These low-key events on Wednesday evenings are open to anyone and are free to enter. Simply turn up and ride and we'll provide the timing. The courses in the series are mostly well known tracks so there will be no course markings to follow. If you are not familiar with any of the other tracks being used please use the maps below and pre-ride the track. While many ride this series socially or use it as an excuse to get out for a regular hill ride, the competition for the title of Canterbury's best hillclimber is very much there at the pointy end of the field! There will be no prizegiving at any of the individual events (once you've finished your timed run you are free to go). A donation can be made at each ride to go to the Port Hills Trailbuilding Fund.
Series Summary (see below for more details and maps)
Wednesday 28 January 09 - Rapaki Track
Wednesday 4 February 09 - Worsleys Track
Wednesday 11 February 09 - Crocodile and Kennedys Tracks
Wednesday 18 February 09 - Victoria Park sprint course
Hopefully we'll see you there...

2 - Worsleys Track
Wednesday 4 February 2009
Same course as the last two years - starts just up from the end of the tarseal (on the flat area) and finishes 10m below the Worsleys Track top gate. 4 - Sprint course at Victoria Park
Wednesday 18 February 2009
The course starts beside the 40 foot jump (near exit of Dazza's Track and entrance to Brent's Track), heads up the gentler of the two 4WD track options for about 180m before turning around a right hand switchback and up to the main skidder site a further 180m or so away, finishing just at the entrance of Dazzas Track. Being a short sprint course of just a few minutes you will have the opportunity to have 2-3 attempts at it if you want (taking your best time). Access to the start, from the skidder site, is down the steep 4WD track or Dazza's. If riding backwards down the course please be considerate to riders doing timed climbs and give them plenty of space to negotiate any ruts and rocks. The course is all 4WD track and has a mix of gentle and steeper grade and smooth to rutty surface.
Suggested parking: Any of the Victoria Park carparking areas (closest is 19th Memorial, then the one next to the Rangers station, then the main carpark near the playground).
