YOU NEED BOTH!
Welcome to the 2007 Mt Evans Hillclimb. The course is on a private Port Levy property that takes you from almost sea level to the 703m summit of Mt Evans where you can get 360 degree views of the Port Hills, Lyttleton Harbour and Banks Peninsula. We would like to acknowledge the support from BikeHQ, and to thank the landowners, Richard and Clare, for this opportunity to bike on a course normally not accessible to mountainbikers.

event details
1 the course
The course takes you from almost sea level to the 703m summit of Mt Evans, on a 5km private 4WD track which gets noticeably steeper, rocky and tussocky as it ascends, with the last third having a couple of short sections that are particularly challenging. The track initially heads up a valley for around 2.5 km before sidling around past the original homestead to the adjacent spur, which is followed to the summit. The views as you are climbing, and from the summit, are outstanding and make the effort required to get there very worthwhile. As this is on private land, participants will not be able to pre-ride the course.
